Cocktail Party Precedes Symphony Ball
competition at the recent Indiana
State Fair.

A cocktail party in the. home of Mr. and Mrs. Michael B. Maurer preceded the annual Gold and White Symphony Ball held last ■ Saturday. Mrs. Maurer, a board member of the Junior Symphony group, accented the ball’s motif by using table decorations of gold and white. Guests included: Mr. and Mrs. Charles Feibleman, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Maurer, Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Schildmeier, Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Joseph, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Silbermann, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Goldberg, Dr. and Mrs. Martin Linderman, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Newmark. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Allan B. Selig, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Borinstein, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Glasser, Dr. and Mrs. Alexander Kahn, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Mantel, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wolf Jr., Dr. and Mrs. Harvey Feigenbaum, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bodner, Mr. and Mrs. John Brouwer, Mr. and Mrs. James Baker, and : Mr. and Mrs.. William Cheek. MR. AND MRS. Alfred Dob'off were feted at a fai’ewell party in the home of Dr. and Mrs. James Leeds before leaving to take up I'esidence in New York
City.
MR. AND MRS. William B. Miller returned recently from a seven week tour of Europe that included Switzerland, Rome, Vienna, Copenhagen, Paris, and Ireland. While in Berlin, they observed the tension between the Eastern and Western sectors of city. In order to visit East Berlin. they were forced to listen to a ten minute propaganda spiel by the East German border guards. They returned via the air from Shannon, Ireland. DR. AND MRS. Morris Stoner and their two children have returned from a vacation in the western part of the United
States. Dr. Stoner devoted some of the time to teaching at Cloud
Crost, N. Mex.
ALSO RETURNING from a western trip, that included Denver, Los Angeles and San Francisco, are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schwab and their son Freddy. MR. AND MRS. Leo Weintraub of Detroit are visiting their daughter, Mrs. Florence Goldring, for the holidays. SPENDING THE holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Goldberg were their daughter and son-in-law from South Bend, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Karlin and their three children. Mr. and Mrs. Goldberg will also spend a few days at French Lick attending an electrical engineering conference. A SPEEDY recovery to Mrs. Atzmoni, who is at Methodist Hospital, and to Mrs. David Klain, who is convalescing there. MIKE KLEZMER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Klezmer, took second prize in the charcoal drawing

Fancy Frees Plan Aloha Dance Sun. Fancy Free, the young adult group of the Jewish Community Center is opening the season’s activities with a dance to be given with a Hawaiian theme. The Aloha Dance will be held from 8-11 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, to greet the new year. Admission is 50c per person for Center members and $1.00 per person for non-Center members. She is leaving this weekend for New York to visit two brothers and two .sisters After 11 days she will return via Detroit and a visit with her son and daughter-in-law 1 , Mr. and Mi’S. Edward Rose. She will visit her aunt, Mrs. J. Harris, formerly of Indianapolis, now of Toledo, O., before returning home.
