Michael D. Galdiein To Be Bar Mitzva
Michael David Golden, son ot Mr. and Mrs. Ben Golden will be Bar Mitzva at Beth-El on Friday and Saturday, July 1 and 2. Michael is a student at school 91. Frances T* Morris Engagement Told Frances Toby Morris has become engaged to Richard James Ugoretz. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Morris, 2603 Miami Rd. South Bend announced the engagement of the daughter to Mr. Ugoretz. who is an Ensign in the navy. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ugoretz of Olivette Mo., formerly of South Bend. Miss Morris graduated from South Bend Riley High School and is completing her Senior year at Northwestern University where she is a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi. Mr. Ugoretz received his commission and was graduated from the University of Michigan where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Mu. He is now stationed on the U.S.S. Jefferson County in San Diego, Calif. Marcia Black Has Guest •Miss Marcia Black 5867 Broadway had as her guest for her graduation from Shortridge high school Mr. Stephen Lubell ot Philadelphia Penn. Miss Black held an open house for her friends on Saturday June 18. Mr. Lubell visited until Sunday June 19.
Arab Says Nixon Panders to Zionism CAIRO (P-O) — A top UAR accused U. S. Vice-President Richard Nixon of pandering to Zionism on the Suez Canal issue in quest for Jewish votes in the presidential race. Abdul Kader Hatem, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs, made the charge in rebuttal to Nixon’s statement that the U. S. wants the canal open to all shipping, including Israel vessels. Nixon also said the U. S. opposes discrimination by-Some Arab gov. ernments against U. S. soldiers of the Jewish religion. Hatem said: “Nixon has begun to seek the support of gangs which have committed one of the most horrible crimes in human history — the seizing of lands and homes of Arabs and rendering a million Arabs homeless.”
