annual center meeting SCHEDULED FOR MAY 9
Irwin Katz, president of the Jewish Community Center, has announced that the Center Annual Meeting will he held on Monday evening, May 9. A 6:30 dinner meeting at the Center will start the proceedings, followed by a short business meeting. The annual meeting group will then adjourn to hear the final speaker of the Lecture Series, Dean Maurice F. Donohue at 8 p.m. The business meeting will consist of short reports by the president and the Executive Director, Alfred Dobrof, plus the election
of new board members.
The speaker for the evening will talk about “Jews in Politics” as part of the series on “Spot-
light on the Sixties.” Dean DonoI hue is Dean of the University . college of the University of Chicago. He is a former: newspaper man, world traveler, educator , and an authority on ethnic group j developments in modern society, j Dean Donohue spoke to the Jewish Welfare Board Midwest Biennial last year and made a deep impression on all who heard him. Council Honors Mrs. Lesser Mrs. Monroe Leiser has been named recipient of the “Volunteer of the Year” award presented annually by the Indianapolis Section Nation Council of Jewish Women. The council awards the special recognition for faithful counsil and community service. The award was presented by Mrs. David Cook, who lauded Mrs. Leiser for the more than 15 years she spent tutoring new Americans in Indianapolis. Mrs. Leiser is a past president of the local council.
