What changes are ahead in the 1960’s for American society in general and the American Jew in particular are the questions to be asked of lecturers in a new Jewish Community Center lecture series, starting Monday evening, Feb. 15. How much do Jews suffer from society’s ills—are they, for example, showing any symptoms of alcoholism, narcotics addiction, juvenile delinquency? WHAT PATTERNS of family life are prevalent among Jews in suburbia? What relations exist between Jewish children and their parents? What are the current patterns of child-rearing? What’s happening to relationships between Jew and nonJew in this country? Do we still have to reckon with the forces of anti-Semitism? How about the Jew in politics? Series tickets are now available at $3 to Center members and $5 for non-members, for the six lectures. Single admission prices are $1 for members, and $1.50 for non-members.

JCC To Begin 2d Art Exhibit The second of the “Who’s Hoosier in Art” exhibits will be on view in the Jewish community center Adult Lounge from Sunday, Jan. 31 through Friday,

The exhibit will include watercolors by James Doversberger, who attended Butler university and Indiana university, and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from John Herron Art School, earned in 1957. He is currently head of the Art Department of Lawrence Central High School, and instructs a Saturday afternoon art class at John Herron Art Museum. He has shown his work in many Indianapolis and Indiana art shows, including exhibits at John Herron, the Indiana State Fair, Hoosier Salon, Art for Religion, the Glendale and Talbot Street art fairs, and others in South Bend, Ft. Wayne and Ball State Teachers college. All pictures will be available for sale to interested viewers. Emanuel Dietz told the audience that he had resigned his position of Beth-El secretary before the letter signed “The Officers of Beth-El” had gone out. He called for unity in the congregation and suggested that a plan be set up to give post bar mitzva training at Beth El. Weinstein also said in his remarks that he believed that aside from the parents’ indifference the biggest thing wrong with current Jewish education was the fact that the child only spends five hours per week in the Hebrew school, and a total of the equivalent of the first six weeks of public school during his whole
