I heard a very interesting idea the other day that would perhaps straighten out what can become a big mess to put it bluntly. A clearing house for dates! (Not the boy-girl kind.) It would be nice if all the clubs, social, youth groups, etc., could have a place to call in and give the dates for parties, meetings and so forth. If a group called in and found that there was something else doing on the date they wanted, they could pick another
day.
If every organization participated and co-operated, each club could draw larger crowds instead of having a crowd split up between several different meetings at one time. It seems to me the center would be. the ideal place, if it would agree to sponsor this. How about it? CLUB CAPERS . . . The Temple Teens are planning a clever skit for their meeting Sunday, Sept. 27. The USY opened their season with a successful dinner- dance last week. Their bulletin, The Shofar. was received by all the members of the group. Editor Ed Zukerman did a fine job on it. The dance chairmen for the Deb-Ette winter dance are Sandy Nathan and Elaine Weinberger The sophomore class from DebEttes are planning their annual party in honor of the rest of ,the Deb-Ette club. The B’nai B’rith Girls have chosen a new name. They will be known as Indianapolis' Shoshanoh (Rose) BBG. They also are inviting any girls between the ages of 14-18 to join their organization. If you are interested call Shelia Davis, president, at CL 5-7802. There will be POK - Swank football game this week end. Swank rush took place last week also. Did You Know , . . The first meeting for those interested in working on the Tel-E-Teen was Sept. 21. There is a new exchange student at Shortridge from France. Her name is Lillian Amedew . . . SOCIAL COLUMN (Contineud from Preced. Page) possibility of sponsoring another similar panel where a few other different candidates could appear. After all, it’s rather hard to choose seven board members from double that number after hearing only two of them. And it might be wise to inform any future panelists, that the audience may not be pi’edominantly Jewish.
