Well, here we stand with two months gone, and one to go. With the realization that twothirds of vacation is nearly over, the socializin’ and travelin* fever has taken a slight turn for the high. A highlight of August will be the family carnival at the center, Aug. 16. There will be valuable prizes, games of skill from 3 to 6 p.m., a water show from 7 to 8 p.m., and a teen dance at 9 p.m. Fun for all! Y’all come! Donna Wides is working at Used Car loan and finance co., Pearl Zukerman and Susan Etshokin are working at Block’s Glendale, and Barry Silbermann is working for his brother in New York (exciting!). Bill Claymon left for St. Paul yesterday with his parents for a week. Back in town is Susie Appleblatt after four weeks in Louisville. Going Gabby . . . Did you all notice Ricky Goldsmith listening sympathetically to Donna Wides and Phyllis Fogel tell of Donna Goldstein’s departure for Las Vegas? (I understand someone forgot to bring along the Kleenex.) Susie Fineberg has a short hair cut . . . All the girls that have been doing so much i-eading out at the center as well as at home . . . All the noise on several occasions in the teenage lounge at the center last weekend . . . The new fad that’s completely taken over supposedly intelligentgirls of 15, 16, and 17—jacks! . . And how about the fact that bridge is still popular among Sandy Nathan, Steve Jaeger, Dixon Dahn, Jeanie Decker and Donald Rothbaum, as well as many more ... A new source of entertainment for many couples and groups of friends is
