Nachlah Event Will Feature Candle Rite The traditional candlelighting ceremony devised many years ago by Cantor Myro Glass will be featured at the 10th annua! Indianapolis Nachlah event set for S p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Congregation B’nai Torah. Each candle is lighted by an individual in honor of a loved one or happy family event or in memory of a departed friend. Cantor Bela Herskovits (P-O, Jan. 30) will present a concert.
Hadassah to Hear Israel Major Major Samuel Shavitt of the Israel army will discuss “The Israel Army and What It Means to the Survival of Israel” at a Hadassah study group meeting at the home of Mrs. Sam Wolf, 5202 Washington Blvd., at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12. Mrs. Abe Kulwin and Mrs. Myron Weinstein will be cohostesses.
Home Unit Sets Tea at Mansion Miss Frances Farmer, television personality, will be guest of honor at a tea to be held by the Indianapolis chapter of the Jewish National Home for Asthmatic Children at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at the governor’s mansion. Professor Simon Englander and his trio will provide a musical program. The chapter will hold its yearly fund-raising event, a donor luncheon, at 12:30 p.m March 3, at the Sheraton-Lin-coln Hotel.
IHC Sisterhood to Play Game Called 'U-Gram' Indianapolis Hebrew sisterhood will play a game called “UGram” at a luncheon meeting set for 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb 9, at the temple. Symphony Concert Set Izler .Solomon and the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra will devote the second half of the program of their eighth pair ot subscription concerts to “The Bells” by Rachmaninoff. The concerts are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 7-S.

Jeanette Garmel And Joseph Bloom Become Engaged Mrs. Rebecca Mickel of Seattle, Wash., announces the engagement of her granddaughter, Jeanette Garmel of Indianapolis, to Joseph Bloom. Mr. Bloom is the son of Mr and Mrs. David Bloom, 2930 Park, and is a senior at Purdue U Diversity in engineering sciences. Miss Garmel attended the University of Washington in Seattle, and is affiliated with Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority. The couple is planning a summer wedding.
BB WOMEN TO HEAR SLATE OF OFFICERS The nominating committee of B’nai B’rith Women Menorah chapter 924 will present a slate of officers at a meeting of the chapter at 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, at the Glendale auditorium. Serving on the nominating committee are Mmes. Jerome Segal, David Weintraub, Howard Kwitny, Walter Moos, Robert Arkin and Ike Nisenbaum. A card party is also on the program.
Baruch Mark Monument Will Be Unveiled Feb. 15 A monument in memory of the late Baruch Mark will be unveiled at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at the Ezras Achim Cemetery. Rabbi Nandor Fruchter and Cantor Yilzchok Jade will officiate.

Bmndeis Women To Get on Phone In Member Drive Local telephone lines will hum Feb. 15 when members of the Indianapolis chapter of Brandeis! University national women’s committee get on the phone to help spark a nation-wide drive for more members. MRS. Robert Stolkin Brother Dies in Chicago at 68 Dr. Joseph Stolkin, 68, of Chicago, brother of Robert Stolkin of Indianapolis, died Saturday. Jan. 31, in Michael Reese Hos-
pital in Chicago.
Dr. Stolkin, a former Indianapolis resident, was buried in Mt.. Mayriv Cemetery, Chicago, after services Monday in Furlh

He had been a practicing optometrist in Chicago for the
40 years.
