Last February the first group of Falasha children to return to Israel since the establishment of the Jewish State were flown from Massawa, Abyssinia, and placed for training in the Bessie Gotsfeld Children's Village and Farm School, a project of the Mizrachi Women's Organization of America. At they mark their first Rosh Hashonah in Israel, these

children of the “Lost Tribe" mark also a new life, far dif. ferent from the life they have left behind. Mizrachi Women report that the Falasha contingent, believed to be the first to return to Israel in more than 2,000 years, “have integrated with amazing rapidity." At the Bessie Gotsfeld children's village, they are learning not only vocational and agricultural

skills, but are joining with their fellow-Jews in the recreation of their ancient heritage. After a two-year period, these Falasha youth will return to Abyssinia to prepare other contingents for emigration to Israel in a new Aliyah of the “Lost Tribe."
