Szold Sister Honored

Mrs. Bertha Levine (standing), the 82-year-old sister of the late Henrietta Szold, receives an award at Youth AliyaH’s 21st anniversary celebration, held recently in New York. Mi'S. Levine lives in Baltimore.

DEB^ETTE CLUB GAVEL GOES TO GAIL CASSEN

Gail Cassen was installed as Brenda Fishbein, Anne Frank,

1955-1956 president of the Deb* Ette club on Sunday, May 29. Other officers installed were vice-president, Vicky Goldberg; secretary, Barbara Cassell, and treasurer, Marilyn Wides. Specific jobs given to members by the newly installed president included philanthropic work to Brenda Goldberg; fund raising to Barbara Berman; publicity to Rochelle Miller; telegram to Nancy Regenstrief, and telephone to Jane Blickman. New initiates of the club are Jane Blickman, Sydney Brodey,

Frances Frisch, Ellen Kammins, Kenny Lyman, Pam Mantel, Barbara Megiliner, Sharon Napers, Kathy Ochs, Judy Schloss, Carol Shane, Janis Sherman, and Paula Stillerman. During the past year, the DebEtte club has participated in community services such as the mental health drive, the Heart Fund, the infantile paralysis drive, and the tuberculosis drive. It has also sewed bandages for the Little Red Door Cancer society, made scrapbooks for the children at Riley hospital, and given a dinner for soldiers at Fort Harrison.

Naomi has been president of Temple Youth and a winner of the Temple Beth-El sisterhood scholarship to the National Leadership Training institute. She has also taught at the temple
