Max Gerber, 59, Dies in Chicago Max Gerber, 59, Indiana manufacturer and philanthropist, died Sunday in his home in Chicago after a short illness. A native of Bylostock, Poland. Tweenteen Canteen 1 Starts at Kirshbaum “Tweenteen Canteen,” a new program for 12 to 15-year-olds, will be inaugurated at from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 8, at Kirshbaum. The new program was announced this week by Ed Weg, Jewish Community Center association director of youth activities. College Football will provide the theme for the opening party. There will be dancing, refreshments, and entertainment free of charge to center members and at a cost of 25 cents to non-members. Larry Herlick, former Big Eagle Camp counsellor, recently director of children’s activities at Omaha, Neb., Jewish Center, and presently a graduate student at the Indiana university division of social service, will be in charge of the canteen. It is planned to hold "Tweenteen Canteen” twice a month. Dates and programs for future parties will be announced well in advance.
