crating at full capacity with a waiting list and is urgently in need of an addition. No one is turned away for lack of funds, he emphatically stated. ‘We do not charge all who can afford to pay. The maximum is $125 a month which does not cover the actual

90 Units Settled On newcomer resettlement, Mr. Berman said that since 1946 a total of 90 units or 172 persons have resettled here. Of these, 59 units or 114 persons were directly the responsibility of the agency. Resettlement has accelerated since then, he said. The newcomer problems are housing and jobs. This year 6 units of 15 persons have arrived

and the agency is shortly expecting 4 units of 6 persons. Mr. Berman praised the aid given newcomers by the Council of Jewish Women as well as the medical, dental and legal assistance given by the professions of the city. The cost of relief for newcomers was $11,225 in 1949, Mr. Bermen stated. In the first 10 weeks of 1950 over $4,000 has been spent. Citing the fact that everything possible is being done for their health and comfort he said that in March, 1949, a total of $849 was spent in resettling one family.
