SOUTH BEND — Aaron Lerman, 61, died Monday, Dec. 8, in his residence, after an illness of

eight months.

Surviving are his wife, Esther

Shatz, Lernnan; a son, Morris, of South

Bend; a brother, Morris, Detroit; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Burke, of Long Beach,

Calif.

Funeral services were conduct-

ed by Rabbi Harry Z. Schectman and Rabbi Leonard Oschry and burial was in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mishawaka.

Man Card Party Supper—The Ladies Auxiliary of the Hebrew Institute has planned the annual card party for Sunday, Feb. 29. The group will hold its first supper of the season at 6:30 p. m. Sunday. The Jewish community is invited. Mrs. Sol Wolvos and Mrs. Harry Schatz are co-chair-men. Youth Council Musical—A musical program, scheduled every two weeks, is on the program of the Jewish Youth Council. The group gathers in Rabbi Harry Z. Schectman’s study in Sinai Synagogue, with Alan Gilman as chairman and Dr. and Mrs. Bernard Vodnoy as commentators. The next meeting will be Dec. 30. Sleigh Ride Dec. 27—A sleigh ride has been planned by Junior Hadassah for paid up members at 8 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 27. The group will return to Temple Beth El for refreshments and a dance, Lillian Weiss, chairman, announced. Young Married Club—The Young Married Club, open to young couples regardless of their synagogue affiliation, will meet at 8 p. m. Sunday in Sinai vestry. A symposium on home planning will be presented by a panel of architects. Sinai Men To Elect—New officers will be elected by Sinai Men’s Club at a dinner in the vestry Sunday, Dec. 30. Vets Plan Dance, Party—A Chanukah party for parents and children will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Jewish War Veterans headquarters by the Vets and the Auxiliary. A Holiday Ball will be held tomorrow night at the Indiana Club, with Jimmie Sylvester’s orchestra playing. Officers be installed. The community is invited. Notes—Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dloughy, Chicago, were the guests of Mrs. Edith Sandor. . . . Goldie Shcolnik is recuperating after an operation. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Arthur F. Scheer and children left for St. Petersburg and Miami for several weeks vacation. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Rubin and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Gurson will attend a Bar-Mhz-vah. in New York on Dec. 22. .... Miss Reva Resnick will visit Mr. and Mrs. Jack Belkin over the holidays. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Charles Feig spent a month in Miami Beach and have returned. . . . Miss Sylvia Gross and Abe Poloy, have set the date of their wedding for Jan. 18. They will be married in Chicago. . . . Mrs. A. F. Hersch celebrated her husband’s birthday, Saturday, with a family Chanukah dinner. Out-of-town guests were his son and daughter-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hersch, Chicago. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Ben Mirkin, Detroit, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Mirkin. ... A card party was held by the Auxiliary of Elkhart Women, in their vestry rooms, Sunday. All proceeds went to the Pioneer Women’s organization. . . . Mrs. I. Levine and son flew to New York to visit her parents. . . . Mr. and Mrs. Ruby Gould, Chicago, moved to South Bend to reside. . . . Mrs. Rose Weiss honored her son on his 20th birthday, Sunday, Dec. 7, with a buffet supper in their home. Thirty guests attended.
