War Vets To Conduct Services Next Friday Special TERRE HAUTE —The Jewish War Veterans will conduct services at 7:45 p. m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Temple Israel. The United Hebrew Congregation Sunday School will observe Jewish Arbor Day with an appropriate program at 10 a. m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Temple Israel at which time they will also plant a tree in memory of some deserving person. The Temple Sisterhood will furnish the refreshments. Rabbi Leonard J. Greenberg To Address Ministers—Louis Greenberg, of the Anti-Defamation office in Indianapolis, will use as his theme "Brotherhood,” when he speaks before the ministerial association at their regular Monday morning meeting on Feb. 3 at the Y.W.C.A. Lodge Interfaith Meeting—The B’nai B’rith will sponsor an interfaith meeting at 7:45 p. m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at Temple Israel. Guests will be present from representative churches of the city and the Rev. Joseph Walker, of Bloomington, Ind., will be the guest speaker. Hadassah To Show Movies—The regular monthly meeting of Hadassah will begin with refreshments being served at 1:30 p. m. Monday, Jan. 27, at Temple Israel. Plotkin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Plotkin. Mr. Plotkin is a graduate of Purdue University, in the College of Pharmacy. He is a member of Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. 15ih Trackless Trolley Arrives Four large trackless trolleys, the last of an order of 15, were delivered this week to Indianapolis Railways by the MarmonHerrington Company. With this delivery, the Company now has received 60 new vehicles w’ith.n a period of 11 months. This is the most significant addition that Indianapolis Railways has been able to make to the fleet n any like period since before the war. In addition to the trackless trolleys, the Company received during the same period 10 Mack buses, five Twin Coaches and 30 General Motors Diesel buses. Also, the system has 15 Diesel buses received in 1945. Distribution of the 60 late model motor coaches has been made on a widespread basis throughout the system. Nineteen are on south side lines, 10 serve the east side, 19 are on the north side and five are placed on the west side’s Speedway route. The other seven are scattered throughout the city wherever they are needed. The new trolleys, likewise, wdl be spread broadly so that all parts of the city can "get acquainted” with the new equipment. The transit firm also has 50 more Diesel buses and 25 trackless trolleys on order for delivery this year. late J. B.
