Helen Arkin Becomes Bride of J. S. Lynn tSpecial HAMMOND—At an impressive ceremony at Beth-El Temple Miss Helen Carrol Arkin became the bride of Joseph Solomon Lynn. The rites were performed in a small room of the temple with members of the immediate family present and later in the evening about 300 guests were entertained at a reception. The bride, niece of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Zolla of this city, with whom she has made her home, was given in marriage by her father, Abe Arkin, who came from Miami Beach, Fla. The service was performed by Rabbi A. J. Feinberg and Rabbi Sydney K. Mossman. The couple left for a honeymoon in Florida and upon their return will live in Hammond. Among many guests here from out of town for the wedding v/ere the groom’s brothers who are in service, Harry S. Lynn, seaman first class, who came from Nor folk, Va., and Leo Lynn of the army, who was here from New Orleans, La.
Anniversaries Dr. and Mrs. Jack Berman were married 20 years March 29. Friends dropped in informally to extend congratulations. FT. WAYNE — Mr. and Mrs. Jack Barson of Van Wert, Ohio, celebrated their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary Monday, March 15, 1943. EVANSVILLE — In honor of the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Reisman, their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Haas, entertained 47 guests at a dinnerparty at the Clearcrest Country Club.
Corp. Lester Linder Married March 25 Near Camp Somerset Special SALISBURY, Md.—Cpl. Lester Linder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Linder, of Indianapolis was married here on Thursday, March 25 to Miss Ida Lee Shahan. Rabbi Stephen Sherman performed the ceremony. Cpl. Linder is stationed at Camp Somerset, Westover, Md.
Mrs. Sam Rose and daughter, Shirley, have left for a two weeks stay in New York to visit Mrs. Rose’s relatives. Mrs. George Cohen, 5903 Guilford, has returned from a week in Chicago where she visited her son, David, at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station. Miss Shirley Ann Einbinder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Einbinder. has been sworn into the WAVES, and is awaiting orders to report to Smith College
for training.
Mrs. Jack Goldberg has returned from several weeks stay at Miami Beach, Fla. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Netzorg, spent the week-end with Mrs. Netzorg’s mother in Dayton, O. Miss Helen Kahn has returned from a few days visit in Mil-
waukee.
Mrs. Mark Gates Sr., was with her son, Sgt. Mark Gates, Jr., who is stationed at Kansas City. She also visited with her niece, Mrs. Sidney Spiegelman, (nee Char lotte Sudransky) and family who reside in Kansas City. Mrs. Albert G. Dannin will go to Dayton, O., April 4, to attend the University of Dayton Musical Revue in which her son, Arthur, a student there, will take part. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Adolph Block of San Francisco, Cal., and Lt. and Mrs. Alfred Pollack of Fresno, Cal., now stationed at Lafayette, Ind., were recent house guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Jacobs.

Births Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sherr, 3024 Park Ave. announce the birth of a son, March 27 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Fogel, 3140 N. Meridian St., announce the birth of a son on March 31. The child has been named Jack Phillip.

Mr. and Mrs. N. Leonard Cohen have returned from several weeks in California. Mrs. Sam Wolf is visiting her mother and sisters in Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Abe L. Cohen are at Miami, Fla. Mrs. Sidney Speigelman with her husband and infant daughter, Polly, of Kansas City, Mo., will arrive this month for a ten day visit with her aunts, Miss Gertrude Feibleman, and Mrs. Mark Gates, Sr., and her brother Dr. Herbert Sudransky and family. From here the Spiegelmans will take up residence in Des Moines, la., where Mr. Spiegelman has accepted a position in social service work. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Falender have returned from a three weeks stay in Florida. Mrs. Jack Harding will return to the Marott Hotel from Chicago today. Mr. Harding will come from Maryland this month. Goldie Abrohomson Wed in Chicago To Andrew S. Franklin Special HAMMOND—Mr. and Mrs. Sholom Abrahamson announce the marriage of their daughter, Goldie to Andrew S. Franklin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew S. Franklin of Chicago. The ceremony took place at the Cafe Royale in Chicago with Rabbi Sydney K. Mossman officiating. Miss Dorothy Abrahamson was her sister’s maid of honor. The groom was attended by his brother-in-law, Morris Rose of Kankakee, 111. An open house was held at the home of the groom’s parents following the wedding dinner, after which the young couple left for a short wedding trip to Detroit. Upon their return they will reside in Chicago.
