Hadassah To Meet Jan. 13— Lafayette Chapter of Hadassah will have its next meeting at 2 p. m., Wednesday, Jan. 13 in the vestry room of Sons of Abraham Synagogue. A quiz program has been arranged by Mrs. Edward
Lasdon and Mrs. Leonard Strauss. A card party sponsored by Hadassah was held on Jan. 6 in the recreation room of the Synagogue. The committee on arrangements were Mrs. William Cohen, Mrs. Irving Newmark, Mrs. Albert Mazor, Mrs. Simon Kushen and Mrs. John Tzucker.

Mr. and Mrs. Allan Zimmerman and son Michael, of Marion, visited the former’s parents during the holidays. Mrs. Ed Pottlitzer and granddaughter Joyce visited in Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Pottlitzer have returned to Hammond after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pottlitzer. Mrs. Minnie Berlowitz celebrated her 70tn birthday and was given a surprise birthday party on Dec. 25 by her daughter, Mrs. George Shaw of New York, who was visiting her.

Minton Ostertag, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ostertag, who underwent an appendectomy at the Methodist Hospital, is recuperating at home. Sudden Death Shocks Friends of Mrs. Sterling (N|»M-(nl * INDIANA H \RBOR—Mrs. Bertha Sterling, 59, passed away suddenly at her home Sunday. Although she had been ill, her death came as a shock to her many friends. Mrs. Sterling was a prominent Indiana Harbor business woman and an active member of leading Jewish organizations including Hadassah and B’nai Israel Sisterhood. Funeral services were held Wednesday in the McGuan funeral home. Burial was held in the B’nai B’rith cemetery in Chicago. Rabbi Louis L. Sachs officiated. Surviving Mrs. Sterling, in addition to her husband, are three sons, Sam Buchstaber, Chicago; David Buchstaber, Indiana Harbor, who is now in the army, and Fred Buchstaber, Indiana Harbor; a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Cohen, San Francisco, Cal.; a sister, Mrs. Anna Drell, Chicago, and seven grandchildren.
