For example: My Dear Mr. Rosenberg: Allow me to take this opportunity to thank you for your many kindnesses and hospitality which you and your co-workers showed me during my brief—but enjoyable stay at Fort Benjamin Harrison. Your kindness and friendship helped ease an aching and lonely heart, a feeling which is bound to happen during the rapid transition from civilian to soldier. I only hope that sometime in the near future—after tnis terrible “mess” is over, I shall be able, in some way, to repay you for the many things you did for me. Again thanking you, I remain, Sincerely yours, LEONARD POSNAN3KY.
