B’nai B’rith Head In Elkhart Dies Special ELKHART — Funeral services for Hyman J. Ferman, 50, president of the local B’nai B’rith lodge, who died in the General Hospital Wednesday, Dec. 3 of a heart ailment, were held Thursday with Rabbi Albert M. Shulman of South Bend officiating. Mr, Ferman who was a well known business man was stricken a week before his death in his hotel suite where he and Mrs. Ferman made their home and was taken to the hospital on Saturday. He was a member of the American Legion Post, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, member of the U.S. Service Organization for National Defense and a member of the Tyrian lodge of Free Masons. He served in the navy in the first world war, and was a well known tight authority in northern Indiana. Survivors are his wife, Mrs Mary Comnetz Ferman, a brother, Samuel A. Ferman of Cleveland and 3 sisters, Mrs. S. Schonberg and Mrs. H. Halper ol Cleveland and Mrs. J. Bergman of Lorrain, Ohio. Burial services were held in Davenport, Iowa, on Friday.

S. A. M. At Indiana To Fight Japan Special BLOOMINGTON — Sigma Zeta of Sigma Alpha Mu has officially declared war on the Empire ol Japan. Last Monday evening, Sigma Zeta’s twelve seniors gathered together in the team room of Lyon’s Old English Inn in downtown Bloomington in what may have been their last gathering of that kind for many a year.
