In reminiscing, we find that throughout the year we met in our clubs, sometimes complaining that we were clubbed to distraction, but nevertheless in attendance, planning, studying, listening—some industrious folks knitting—but all freely expressing various viewpoints and often disagreeing. All in all, however, we had a progressive year.

an active club calendar and still have time left for sports, bridge, fashions, theaters and the complexities of modern living. Just as women pioneers aided in establishing America, so will the modern woman, organized for purposes fundamental to the stability of our country, give unselfishly of her time and energy to make this work! a better place in which to live. Who said “The Weaker Sex”? The person who referred to the feminine element as the “weaker sex" surely could not have meant the 20th century woman. As space does not permit me to list numerous activities in our state, we must confine ourselves to a few highlights. Activities Listed In turning the clock back to last October, we find that Mrs. J. A. Goodman was elected to the nation board of Hadassah at the national convention in St. Louis, and in December began a speaking tour in behalf of Youth Aliyah through the Middle West and the Southern States. We know of one mass meeting she addressed in Rock Island, 111., at which the Jewish communities of Davenport, Iowa, and Moline, 111., were also in attendance, where $3,600 was raised. Also, in October your writer was honored with the presidency of the State Federation of Temple Sisterhoods.
