It involves the right of j Judge Parker, of the Common Pleas | Court, to issue a habeas corpus lo i ascertain the cause of capture and ; detention of the alleged slave llosetjta, and will test the question whether the U. {5. Commissioner has £he exclusive jurisdiction in cases where the party is claimed as a “fugitive from labor. ’ This morning at 10 o’clock, is the hour the U. 8. Commissioner has ap-; pointed to decide as to the extradition j bf Rosetta as a fugitive slave. Chase, representing a large number of our citizens, proposed lor! a solution, by the suing out of a writ of habeas corpus by him against 0 , : Breashears, Sheriff, in whose custody i the girl was since Saturday, but the! IJ. 8 Marshal had removed the girl | from the care of the Sheriff an hour before It is not known where he secreted her, but he will have her before Mr-. Pendery this morning.
