Division of our County.
An effort will be made, at the approaching Ression of our Legislature, I to-fiivila this county; and tfiis effort will be tnftde not by our citizens, but | by a fevb wealthy spefeulatcfrs, who, for I the purpose of increasing the value l of their lands. ?ire desirous of establishing a now county. This new county is to consist of a portion of Import,•' Pulaski, Jasper and Stark counties. No definite amount of territory is called for in the petition praying for this division. An effort will, also, be made, wc j are informed, to effect a division of the southern portion of the county, fora like purpose,by men whose in■tereaU lia-in that direction- —1 We do not, at present, design to express any opinion as to the advantages or disadvantages which may result from such ft division of our county. Much will depend on the amount of territory to form the new county. We desire, however that our readers may be fully advised in relation to the matter. A division of the county may materially effect the interest of many of our citizens, and it is proper they should consult their own interests in this matter and take such action as may be deemed expedient.
