CITY IN DARKNESS FOR A TIME

When a Bearing Burns Out on Big Dynamo Monday Evening. The burning out of a bearing on the largest dynamo art the city light plant about 5:30 'o’clock Monday evening left a part of the town in darkness for about an hour, especially residences on the west side of the river, and old lamps, candles or anything else that would make a light were resurrected. The lights were run on the smaller dynamo thereafter until the damage was repaired. One certainly learns to appreciate our excellent light Service when deprived of the lights for a few minutes. This was perhaps the longest time we have been without lights on the z west side in the 10 years। the writer has lived there, and so accustomed to always having the service had the patrons become that practically everyone had to hunt 1 about for some time before they found any of the long discarded coal oil lamps.
