THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Road Election Ordered In walker Township for Nov. 27. । The county commissioners met in regular session Monday and transacted the following business, com- ' pleting the work of the term In the [one day: William Folger ditch—Petitioners and drainage commissioners ask that same be referred back to dralnage commissioners for amended report, to tTe filed by Dec. 1. Petition 1 granted. Certificate of completion of the Henry Amsler road filed aqd contractor, B. D. McColly, alldwed SB,624, balance due, and cause dropped. C. M. Dewey road —Report approved and election ordered for Nov. 27. John F. Pettit, trustee, appolnted Inspector, and E. M. Laßue and D. D. Dean appointed election commissioners. (Both the appointees for election commissioners are Republicans, and Mr. \Laßue is the !county attorney; therefore it is very doubtful if these appointments are according to law, or that the election would stand, if they were permitted to serve, should anyone desire to contest it.) ’ William Hershman road —Contract awarded to A. S. Keen of Wheatfield for $16,372.90. Jacob A. May road —Cofitractor allowed $1,734.50. John E. Murphy road—Contractor allowed $5,041.90. D. W. Myers road —Certificate of completion filed and contractor allowed balance due of $3,715. Cause dropped. Claude Spencer road —Contract awarded to B. D. McColly for $24,G25.85x F- J. Slight road —Contractor ordered to appear before the board on first day of December term and show cause why contract should not be forfeited. Fred Tyler road —Certificate of completion filed and contractor, B. D. McColly, allowed balance of $4,466.00 and $1,400 for extra stone. Cause dropped. W. L. Wood road —Contractor cob Johnson allowed $347.30. Jesse Eldridge road —Viewers granted until first day of December term to file report. Ellt Toben road—Same order! as above. z ‘ . Firman Thompson ditch —All parties assessed file agreement consenting to change of- route, which is ordered. Frink Zacher ditch —Sale reported to O. N. Sherech for $865. Sale approved. Charles E. Day ditch —No objections filed. James Babcock appointed third commissioner. County auditor directed to advertise for blds for county farm supplies, for letting contract at December term.. C. B. Steward appointed delegate to meeting of State Board of Charities at Terre Haute, Nov. 17* to 19. But three of the county depositories had reported interest on county funds. These were: First National bank, Rensselaer, Earmers & Merchants National ank, Rensselaer, $90.85; Bank of Wheatfield, $47.44.
