BROOK DEMOCRATIC MEETING

Largely Attended—Candidates and District Officers Entertained. ' The district and county officers of the tenth district, together with Dr. Carleton B. McCulloch, Senator McCarthy of Minn., and Mrs. Hortense Trapp Moore, were most pleasingly entertained Tuesday noon by the Newton . County Democratic Central committee at the Hazelden golf links. A bountiful fried chicken dinner was an important part of the occasion, In which our hospitable neighbor, George Ade, took an active part. The six ladies In the party to their call at the Ade home were each given a large autograph portrait of the great humorist. It was suggested that Mr. Ade write a new version of “The County Chairman” that would Include the women to politics. The meeting of the afternoon at Brook was largely attended and the address on the league of nations by Senator McCarthy was one of the most logical and convincing that has been given in this part of the state. Our Newton county Democratic neighbors are to be congratulated on the success of the entire program.
