Miss Florence' Ryan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.' J. P. Ryan of Gillam township, has been employed as home service secretary for the local Red Cross, and is now in charge of the headquarters. Mrs. Lydia Crawfordi has been certified as a candidate for treasurer of Scott county on the Republican ticket, and is the only woman named on the ticket. No' nomination was made for treasurer by the Republicans at the primary, it being understood that Mrs. Crawford was to be the candidate if eligible at the time of the election.
