WOLCOTT * (From the Enterprise) Mrs. Mary Pugh is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Taber, at Bluffton. Miss Belle Deßolt of El Paso, 111., was the week-end guest of Miss Ada Spencer. Mrs. Jacob Diemer went to Byron. 0., Wednesday to visit her son, John Diemer, and family. Mrs. Clarence Stack of west of Wolcott went to Goodland Wednesday to visit friends. Mrs. L. B. Stanford and son Frank of Forrest came Wednesday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Otis Dart. Bert Cowgill, who is employed in the Fisher elevator at Lapel, spent Sunday with his family here. Mrs. Mary Boudreau of Remington spent several days this week with Joseph Demaris and family. Lester Miller and daughter Iva visited over Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Miller near Remington. Rev. and Mrs. D. J. Dunkln and Miss Veredith Wilson went to Lake Winona Saturday for a two weeks’ stay. Miss Lucy Jackson of Manteno, 111., came Saturday and is visiting
her brother, Thomas Jackson, and wife. Miss AlVerta Siripson, principal of the Monnett School for Girls at Rensselaer, was here between trains Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Fred McKinley ami chdldren of Taylorville, 111., are visiting Geo. Miller and family of south of Wolcott. Miss Grayce Corbin of Washburn, 111., came last week and is visiting Mrs. Fred Johnson, at the farm north of Wolcott. Mrs. Joseph Ford and son Darrell and daughter Rosemary went to Rankin, 111., Tuesday for a visit with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Foster and daughter Marian autoed to Gillman, 111., Thursday to visit; Mr. and Mrs. Homer Spangle. Miss Lizzie Anker of Fairbury, 111., came Saturday evening to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anker, east of Wolcott. Orr D. Snick and family of Indianapolis came Saturday and are spend--1 ing the week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. Snick. Arthur Greenwall of Cleves, 0., who has been visiting Leonard Jackson, northwest of Wolcott, returned home Wednesday. Mrs. Dick Meyer and children of Wolcott, went to Watertown, S. D., Thursday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. Gronewald. Mrs. Bert Mathews and Mrs. Maude Fox of Mt. Morris, Pa., came Friday to visit their sister, Mrs. Richard Fox, northeast of Wolcott. Misses MArie and Lillian Fisher went to' Goodland Thursday to spend the day with their uncle and aunt, Dr. and Mrs. C. C. Bassett. Miss Frances Fields went to Sheridan Wednesday to attend a house party given by Miss Edith McMurty, will go from there to Indianapolis. Mr. and Mrs. John Zehr and Mr. and Mrs. Eli Zehr motored to Elgin, 111., Friday and visited Misses Susie and Esther Zehr, returning home Monday. « Mrs, C. Burkhardt and grandson, James Reahard, of Frankfort were guests from Thursday until Monday of Mrs. Bhrkhardt’s mother, Mrs. E. Boicourt. / Mr. and Mrs, Andrew Nelson and daughter, Miss Martha, went to Clifton, 111., Saturday morning to visit Mr. Nelson’s brother, Anton Nelson, and family. Ed Goss, who has been staying here with his sisters since their return to Wolcott, went to Chicago Heights Monday where he has a position in the Victor Chemical works. Dr. and Mrs. Baldwin of the Baldwin sanitarium, Kalamazoo, Mich., were guestß from Saturday until Tuesday evening of Dr. S. D. Sluyter and daughter, Miss Gertrude, and granddaughter, Miss Virginia Messenger. This' week T. H. Mount, who has owned and operated the New Grand theater here for the past year, sold the same to the Hornbeck Amusement Co., who own theaters in Lafayette and other towns. The new owners take possession Aug. 23, but we understand that they will close down and remodel the room and reopen about Sept. 1. Harry Winger, the 9-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Winger, died at the family home, southwest of Wolcott, Monday morning at 12:46 after an illness of Out tnree days, the cause of death being spinal trouble. The funeral was held Wednesday from the Christian Apostolic church, south of Remington, and burial made in the Christian Apostolic cemetery.
ViRGIE . Charles Florence spent Sunday with home folks. Jack Reeder and family spent Sunday with Thomas Florence. Ardath and Robert Cover attended 'Fountain park assembly Sunday. Misses Ada and Bertha Florence are home on a two weeks’ vacation. Carl, Vern and Leo Zellers ot Hammond spent the week-end here with Velatives. The birthday picnic given for Mrs. Maher was a great success and all reported a good time. Threshing in. this vicinity is just about finished, and most of the farmers are well pleased with the yield. - Joe Winslow and family of Fair Oaks and Walter Harrington and family spent Sunday with Charles Harrington. There will be an ice cream social here Friday night, Aug. 27. Come
