Obituary

Peter H. Zea Peter H. Zea of 27 Lincoln avenue, Atlantic Highlands, N. J., passed away in the Presbyterian hospital jn Newark May 26 —death being due to cerebral hemorrhage. Mr. Zea was born in Madison county, N. Y., but moved to LaSalle county, 111., when a boy. He was graduated from Quincy college and the University of Lafayette, Ind., and later on became professor of mathematics in his alma- mater, where he also met and married Harriet Newell Givin of Battle Ground. Owing to ill health, Prof. Zea was cony?elled to abandon educational

work and took up farming and dairying. In 1905 he came to New Jersey and here he entered the civil service, being employed at Sandy Hook at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow and four children: Jennie Zea, wife of Edwin A. Shepherd of Washington, D. C.; IJelen Zea, wife of John E. Throckmorton of Atlantic Highlands; Paul H. Zea of Brooklyn and James Gk Zea of Detroit, Mich. Interment took place in Fairview cemetery May 29 from £he residence of h’is son-in-law, Mr. Throckmorton. The service was conducted by C. J. Woodworth of New York, a member of the International Bible Students' association, to which Mr. Zea had belonged since 1907.
