CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS

Preliminary Action Taken to Sell City Property. The city council met in regular session Monday night with all members present, except Councilmen Kellner and Waymire. In the petition of Mary Wiseman et al for a sidewalk on the north side of Vine street, filed last year and which was ordered in, some or the property owners complying with the order, notice was ordered given for letting contract for walks not put in. Trustees of Weston cemetery reported the sale of several lots and. the mayor was authorized to execute deeds for same, | George H. McLain was authorized, to renew insurance on city hall and ! fire apparatus in same atnount of present policy. 4 In matter of petition of Sam Karnowsky et al to narrow Walnut street to uniform width of 60 feet,' clerk was directed to give notice to property owners that council would ред hear remonstrances and objections 'on Aug. 9. Ordinance No. .-201, appropriating J S7OO to the Rensselaer band for j concerts, was unanimously adopted by the three councllme npresent. | The City attorney was authorized to file a petition with the judge of, the circuit court to appoint apprais-; ers and authorize the sale of the j former Ralph Fendig property on j the corner of Van Rensselaer and ( Harrison streets, which the city pur- j chased a few years ago with the idea of building a city hall thereon. fc The usual grist of claims were allowed.
