NOTES FROM COUNTY HOSPITAL
Mrs. Bertha Hammerton and Mrs. Artie Clark and baby will leave the hospital today. Mrs. Allen and Mrs. W. H. Sayler are doing as well as could be expected. Mrs. Fred Simpson left the hospital Saturday and Mrs. Merriman Tudor on Sunday. Helen, little 18-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Harlow of near McCoysburg, got hold of some medicine of her father’s Monday and took some of it, which threw her into convulsions. She was brought to the hospital for treatment and was able to be taken home again yesterday. Mrs. Elmer Bartoo of Remington underwent a minor operation Tuesday. ' Fred Baler, Amanuel Lehman and Miss Nellie Doyle are improving. Mrs. Relddle’s condition remains unchanged. Mrs. Simon Fendig and son Allen and Miss Ethel Hodges of Wheatfield visited the former’s mother, Mrs. E. W. Allen, at the Jasper county hospital Monday. Seven of the nurses at the county hospital spent a most enjoyable evening Monday evening picnicking in the grove near Groom’s bridge. The party was taken out in automobiles by Misses Lois May and Ruth Gulbranson. “We wish to ask the owners of automobiles to please keep in mind the fact that unless a car is driven quietly in front of the hospital it is very disturbing to those who are sick, so much so in fact that the evenings, and especially Wednesday and Saturday nights, have become a dread. In behalf of the patients we ask you to us in making them comfortable by remembering a few don’ts: “Don’t drive by with cut-out open. “Don’t stop within the hospital quiet zone and leave your engine running. “Don’t drive by the hospital without remembering that some one appreciated the fact if you tried to be quiet “Don’t forget that if you come to us sick we will put forth every effort to make you comfortable. “MATTIE HEMPHILL, Supt.”
The Democratic Women’s School of Citizenship will meet Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock in the east court room. The prohibition record of both the Republican and'Democratlc candidates will be given by Mrs. E. P. Lane and Mrs. Charles L. Mann. This is a subject in which all women are greatly Interested and we hope a goodly number of them will avail themselves of this opportunity to get all the authentic in» formation possible on this Important subject.
