Warns Police to Got Busy.

Anderson, June 4.—Because of numerous robberies in the local buslncee district without the police effecting ■ single arrest, W. J. Black, mayor, and T. J. Nichol, president of the police board, appeared at roll call of police and told the police force, from chief to patrolmen, that “they must either get to work or resign.” The mayor said he drove through several alleys in the business district and around town last Saturday night without seeing a police officer on his beat. “I could have robbed the town blind," Mayor Black said.
