BATTLE IS WON BY SONORA
First Fight of Mexican Rebellion Goes to the Rebels. Nogales, Arlz., April 16.—Sonora, Mex., has won her first fight for freedom. Gen. Agel Flores of the independent forces fought his way across the Sinaloa border, taking San Blas, on the boundary line, and is proceeding with 2,500 men, 1,000 of whom are Yaqui Indians, toward Caliacan, capital of the state. According to special advices from Hermosillo, capital of Sonora, federal troops are deserting the command of Gen, Ramon Iturbe, chief of military operations in Sinaloa and Tepic. Gen. Juan Carrasco, acting chief of staff to Iturbe, unable to stem the tide of the rebel advance, is retreating with his men in wild disorder, according to advices.
