HOUSE FAVORS END OF WAR
Measure Will Pass. Washington. April 9.—Adoption of the Republican peace resolution late today by the house was indicated when the rule limiting debate on the measure to nine hours was adopted with some Democrats joining the Republicans in supporting it. The vote was 214 to 155. The debate will continue until 5 p. m., when a vote on the resolution is expected. Democrats voting for the rule numbered seven, while one Republican, Representative Fuller of Massachusetts, voted against It. The Democrats joining with the Republican majority were Caldwell, New York; Evans, Nevada; Gallivan and Olney, Massachusetts ; Sherwood, Ohio, and Goldfogle and Ganly, New York.
