JUDSON MAINES CRITICALLY ILL
No Word Received Here From Him Since Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Gray received a card from Miss Eva Maines Thursday morning regarding the condition of her brother, Judson Maines, because of whose critical condition she and her mother, Mrs. Susan Maires, were called to Olean, N. Y., some days ago . No further word had been received by any one here, so far as The Democrat was able to learn up to yesterday noon. Miss Maines said of him, when the card waa written, Tuesday: "Jud operated on Sun. u. m.; ic still in a very serious condition and while the Dr. has little hopes, yet cannot tell for several days. • Gangrene has set in. Of course it all depends on that. Mother stood thu trip pretty good. Belle got on the train at Ravena, (Ohio) and George got here Sunday. We have our special nurse and this a. m!. had to get another one to help her as he needs constant care. Everyone is so kind to us here among strangers.”
