NEW BUTTER MAKING OUTFIT
I natal led by Jasper County Creamery — Greatly Increases Output. W. E. Harris, proprietor of the Jasper County Creamery, has just recently Installed a complete new line of butter-making machinery at his place of business on south Washington street. The machinery consists of a 700-pound capacity Victor churn and a 170-gallon Wizard pastuerizer with a valveless pump attached, besides other fixtures. The cream, after being tested is placed into the pastuerizer and as soon as It has passed through the pastuerization process it is forced by the pump from the pastuerizer through a pipe to the churn, where it is churned, worked and mixed ready for molding without leaving the churn. * The largest churning made at one time by Mr. Harris was 649 pounds, but as soon as he has a larger motor installed, he expects to be able to work the churn to its full capacity. The new machinery cost Mr. his approximately SI,OOO and will enable him to increase the buttermaking capacity at least one-fourth, besides eliminating the service of two helpers. The Jasper County Creamery made 75,000 rounds of butter last year and shipped out 15,000 pounds of butterfat. It is Mr. Harris’s aim to increase the output to 100,000 pounds of butter this year with the new equipment.
