Daniel HoUlhgsworth, a fur buyer, uriho makes this city Quite often, tells of sitting at a table in a hotel in Knox a few days ago and while talking to an auctioneer, who had cried a public sale that day, the clerk of the sale came to the table amid paid the auctioneer $14.00, wthioh represented tihe auctioneer’s commission for the sale. The remarkable thing is that the sale which netted more than $2,000 was all paid in cash. Not a single note was given. Surely the KNOX county farmers are prosperous.—Rensselaer Republican, Jan. 21. «
