BREWER FIGHTS THE DRY LAW

Jacob Ruppert of Now York, Through Ellhu Root, Bring* Suit Against U. S. Official. New York, Oct. 31. —Jacob Ruppert, the brewer, through Elihu Root, brought suit against Francis G. Chat fey, United States district attorney, and Richard McElllott, deputy collector of internal revenue, to restrain them from enforcing the wartime prohibition law. Mr. Root asks that the Volstead law be declared unconstitutional.
