Republican Colleagues Inform Him They Will Fight Treaty Amendment Washington, Sept. 26. —Senator Hiram Johnson was notified by Republican colleagues In the senate that if he moved to take up his amendment to the German peace treaty giving the United States an equality with the six votes which might be cast by Great Britain and its colonies in the League of Nations council, at lea< eight Republican votes would be cast against it.
