Wrigley Jr. Company, \ at 35th Street and Ashland Avenue, Chicago, is to be doubled in size. The first J / large unit of the new structure is now under construction. When completed, the | new plant will comprise a million and a quarter square feet of space, devoted entirely | to the manufacture of chewing gum. The area covered is six hundred by three hundred I feet, the building being eight stories high with basement. It is of heavy re-mforcedl concrete and steel, white terra-cotta exterior. Track facilities for loading fifty care at I one time are provided. Special features are a modern roof-garden, recreation hall, restaurant, hospital, welfare department, library, club rooms, smoking room, hand-bell courts, gymnasium and. showers. S.
