SEVERAL MORE FARM SALES
Consumated This Week 11 Various Parts of Jasper County. Charles Stath has this week sold his farm of 303 acres in Barkley township, near Moody, to Fred Burger of Goodland for $lB5 per acre. Mr. Stath bought this farm, which is the former W. R. Brown farm, three years ago at $l5O per acre, trading in on same his 4lOacre farm in west Carpenter, some 4 miles northeast of Goodland. His profit on the farm is $10,605. Possession is given March 1. Mr. Stath expects to buy again, but at this writing has not done so. Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Austin drove down from Wheatfield Thursday on business. Mr. Austin sold his farm of 260 acres three-fourths of a mile southwest of Wheatfield this week to Joseph Warren of Lacross at SIOO per acre and will probably buy a smaller farm over about Flora or in Tippecanoe county. S. E. Kershner, who now resides at Bryan, 0., where he owns a 240acre farm adjoining the corporation of the city, came down Wednesday evening to look after # the sale of his 120-acre farm % mile north of Barkley church, in Barkley township, he having two parties on the string to buy this farm and will probably close a deal before he returns home tomorrow. Mr. Kershner says that the hay crop was extra good in his locality this season, but the wheat is not threshing out as well as expected, averaging a little better, than 20 bushels per acre. He has not threshed his 40 acres yet, but will start on It Monday. Corn is not very good there. Mrs' Dan Coleman has sold her 40-acre farm near Julian to Jack Ulyatt of near Brook for S2OO per acre and has bought the Abe Simpson tenant property in Rensselaer on Cherry street, now occupied by Chester Downs, paying S9OO therefor. She secures possession October 1. Another land deal consumated this week was that of the 280-acre Smalley farm, northeast of town, to iEP. C. Parker of Watseka, 111,, for SIBO per acre, or $50,400. — Remington Press. Rowles & barker have purchased from the Miller estate w their 160acre farm, 2 miles northwest of Surrey. The price paid was a little »less than SBS per acre, it is understood. Mrs. George F. Meyers has sold her 80-acre farm in Milroy township to A. L. Padgltt of this city. Consideration $65 per acre. Harvey Davisson has purchased the former Charley Bussell farm of 200 acres In Hanging Grove township at $125 per acre.
