MISS NELLIE GRANT INJURED
Miss Nellie Grant of just west of town met with what might have proven a very serious accident Wednesday forenoon. Miss Grant was driving home from town and when near the Henry Hordeman home met Roscoe Halstead In his automobile which had a trailer attached containing several rolls of barbed wire. One side of the trailer had come loose and was weaving from one side of the road to the other, and when passing Miss Grant one of the rolls of wire slipped oft right in front of the horse she was driving. \ The animal was frightened and made a turn for the ditch, which threw Miss Grpnt out onto the shafts or between the shafts and the wheel. The horse then started to run east, back toward Rensselaer, and was near the W. P. Bennett home before she could free herself. She was then picked up by Mr. Halstead and brought to town and her wounds dressed. No bones were broken and other than some very bad scratches and bruises she escaped serious Injury. The horse continued on to town and when found was standing at the hitch rack In the rear of the John Eger grocery, where the family is in the habit of tying IL
