Lowery of Indianapolis was a - visitor in the city yesterday. New suits filed: Felix R. Erwin vs. Irene and Alfred Moore; suit on note. Demand $350. Mrs. George Davisson of Barkley township will be taken to Longcliff again today, her condition having become so bad once more that they are unable to take care of her at home. Ed Gilmore, the barber, who was fined and costed 535 and sentenced to ten days in the county jail last week for matching pennies, will be released this morning, having completed his ten day jail term.
At the adjourned meeting of the county- commissioners Monday, to act on the numerous county unit road petitions, an entry was made in each case extending the time for filing report to July 7, which is the date of the regular monthly meeting. A joint meeting was held Monday with the commissioners of White county to consider the county line road petitioned for by G. •L. Parks et al of Milroy township, and both boards went out and viewed the proposed road.
Four , young boys were taken into custody by Sheriff Woodworth Friday and lodged in jail for a few hours, and after a good lecture were released. It seems the lads had been stealing ice cream and Other eatables from the merchants for some time and while the quantity of ice cream taken was not large they had spoiled several tubs by leaving it uncovered, etc. They were turned loose on their promise to get to work and to be at their homes in the evening by 9 o’clock.
—} ■B— receipts and expenditures of the Jasper county hospital for the first six months of 1919, as shown by the books in the county treasurer’s office were as follows: Receipts, 54,961.99, disbursements, 54,989.63, leaving a deficit of 517.64 for the six months. For February the receipts were 5950.84 and disbursements 5668.14; for March, receipts, 51.044 and disbursements, $1,091.46; for April, receipts, $1,043.70 and disbursements $1,031.08; for May, receipts $1,065.80, and disbursements $972.36; for June, receipts, 5837.65, and disbursements $934.59. This Is by far the best showing ever made since the hospital was established.

First marriage for each. June 30, Russell Leonard Warner of Michigan City, aged 19 March 14 last, waiter, and Mary Madeline Kellner of Remington, daughter of Joseph Kellner, aged 16 August 17 last, housekeeper. First marriage for each. Both being under age their mother’s gave consent to issuance of license.
