OBITUARY William R. Johnson, the third son of a family of children of Hosier and Jane Johnson, was born December 1, 1840, in Morgan county, Ohio. He quietly fell asleep at his home May 21, 1919, at 10 o’clock a. m., where he had lived
for 28 years, being 78 years, 5 months and 20 days of age. At the age of S years he came with bls parents to Columbae, Ind., and some time during the 50's he came to Jasper county, where he had since resided. In 1887 he was married to Llssie Paas. To this union five children were born, four of them dying while very young. One son 18 still living. The wife died In December 1881 and he «»-♦ married the second time, December 20, 1882, to Elizabeth C. Walters. To this union four children were born. In June, 1890, he united with the Christian church during the ministry of Rev. U’. Hv Henegar, and remained in that faith, and his last words were, “My God have mercy on me." He leaves the wife, his faithful companion, five children and four grandchildren: Samuel G. of Valparaiso, Mrs. Ora Craver of Medaryville, John H. of Rensselaer, Della M. and Victoria at home. One sister, Mrs. Eliza Stlllabouer, of Taylorsville, Ind. Mr. Johnson had been a great sufferer for several years and was totally blind for four years. Being of a jovial disposition in spite of his affliction, be talked and joked with his friends and neighbors and wae always glad for them to come to see him. -
