LETTERS ROM OUR READERS
Are Having a Wet Spring in the East Also. Sugar Grove, Pa., May 22, 1919. Mr. F. El Babcock, Rensselaer, Ind. Dear Editor; Enclosed find check for $2 for subscription to your valuable paper, which we are pleased to receive twice a week. We have had an awfully wet spring. Farm work has almost been at a standstill. Fruit prospects are fair, but not up to where they were last year. Meadows and pastures are good. Stock is in good shape, with quite a demand for dairy cows. I see Jasper has proved its 100% patriotism in its Liberty and Victory loans. Our county (Warren) has stayed in the 100% American column. Its subscriptions are as follows: First loan took $740,000; sefcond, $1,615,900; third, $2,131,800; fourth, $4,328,150; fifth (Victory loan), $2,910,250. Total, $11,726,100. This averages almost a S3OO bond to every man, woman and child in Warren county. We held our good roads bond election April 5 and bonded the county for $750,000. This money will be 'used to build feeders to state highway, which will be built from Erie to Corry, joining Corry to Warren, from Warren to Oil City and Pittsburg. Well, I expect I had better close, as this may embarrass the editor to some extent to read it, by giving my good wishes to all of my friends. —IRA BROWN.
