AIRPLANE HITS TREE

Army Aviator and Mechanician Escape Injury at Ix>gansport. Logansport, May 17. —Lieut. L. Fagiey of Chanute field, Rantoul, 111., and bls mechanician, escaped serious injury yesterday when their airplane crashed into a clump of trees, badly wrecking the machine. They were here in connection with the war department’s "air circus” campaign to encourage recruiting fir the air service. The men had made a flight from Kokomo, and after maneuvering over the city for a short time, landed in Roselawn. In attempting to take the air again, the accident occurred.
