PAY OF ROAD LABORERS Township Trustees May Use Township Funds, If Reimbursed. Township trustees may pay road laborers weekly out of township funds provided the township funds are reimbursed at the end of each month by county commissioners, according to a ruling by Gilbert H. Hendren, chief examiner for the state board of accounts. The arrangement is made to avoid the necessity of the laborers waiting a mouth for their wages. Under the new county road unit law the trustees do not have money with which to pay for the upkeep of roads in their townships. They are not even required to look after the roads, that duty having been transferred to the county commissioners, who, however, may delegate the township trustees to do the work.
