E. S. RHOADS DIED YESTERDAY
Well Known Grocer Passed Away at 9:30 o’clock A. M. E. S. Rhoads, the grocer, who bad been a patient at the county hospital for the past two weeks, suffering from the after effects of a severe attack of Influenza, passed away at 9:30 o’clock yesterday morning. His condition had been considered quite critical ever since he entered the hospital, he having several sinking spells in which It seemed that he would never be able to rally from. During these spells his breathing would apparently cease and he would turn in the face, but he had rallied each time and would occasionally seem quite a bit better. A specialist was called from Chicago last Saturday night, and he held out some hope of the patient’s recovery. But this proved vain as the death angel entered the sick chamber and took its toll yesterday morning. Mr. Rhoads was about 62 years of age and almost his entire life had been spent in Rensselaer, where for many years he conducted a grocery store. In fact, he was born here. He leaves a wife, three children, Mrs. A. H. Davisson of Hume, 111., and Edwin and Donald Rhoads at home; also an aged mother and two sisters and two brothers. The latter are Mrs. C. C. Starr, Ollie aoxd Charles Rhoads of Rensselaer and Mrs. I. C. Reubelt of Erlanger, Kentucky. At this writing the funeral arrangements bad not been made, but the ceremony will probably take place Sunday.
