Jasper County Democrat, Volume 21, Number 98, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 8 March 1919 — NEW MEAT COUNTER BOUGHT [ARTICLE]

NEW MEAT COUNTER BOUGHT

And Other Equipment for New CoOperative Market. The new co-operative meat market has not opened yet, for two dr three reasons, The Democrat is informed. Chief of these is the fact that they had not secured a cutter, but this difficulty was expected to be settled yesterday by the employment of a suitable man for this position, also a helper. Another reason was that they had not secured a suitable meat counter, but at a meeting of the directors held Thursday evening it was decided to purchase a fine, up-to-date counter that they had in view. A cash register and electric meat grinder was purchased Wednesday, and as soon as this equipment is received and placed in â– position the market will be opened fpr business. The Democrat understands that it is the intention, for the present at least, to handle nothing but government inspected dressed meats, direet from Chicago. These can be had in precisely the kind and quantity desired every other day, delDvered -here at the Monon station.
