Looping the loop In a kite balloon was the hair-raising feat performed some time since by a young balloonist when the government was testing the use of captive balloons on battleships doing, convoy work, according to a story in Popular Mechanics Magazine. The balloonist in question had been aloft in his basket several hours despite very rough weather when a 40mile gale struck the'fleet.
