FORMER RESIDENT IS DEAD

Mr. and Mrs. Marion I. Adams received a letter Wednesday evening from one of the daughters of Joseph Mitchell of Ridgeville, Indiana, informing them of the death of her father, which occurred Tuesday, following a stroke of parajysis suffered three weeks previous. Mr. Mitchell, who was a civil ■war veteran, used to own and resided on what is now known as the Eisele farm, a few miles south of Rensselaer, and was a neighbor of the Adams’ at that time. He sold out and left here aboout 1895, hut will be remembered by many of the older residents. His son, George, was principal in the Rensselaer schools some twelve or fifteen years ago, but now resides in California, and the daughter wrote that they were waiting to hear from him, and if he could not .jome, the funeral would be held Thursday, otherwise it would be postponed until George came.
