It’s a matter of good business to make prompt payment on the bill of expenses for maintaining the morale of the army. As long as the war continues the American people will respond to every demand. It is like an assessment on stock of undoubted value but which requires that money be paid in to put the property on a dividend basis. The stock of the United States is the best in the world. It has always paid dividends and will again. However, until the Hun is whipped we must pay the assessment. If we furnish 6ur men on the battlefields with all they ask of us the end will be hastened.
