NOTICE To all employers or other representatives of labor in all industries, occupations and employments, including agriculture, necessary to the maintenance of the military establishment, the public welfare and the prosecution of the war: j Under section 80 of the selective service law, the undersigned board of industrial advisers to the district board for District No. 1, in the State of Indiana, hereby gives notice that in all cases of employees in your respective employments, who are registered under the selective service law; it is your duty to make careful investigation into the work of such employee, his relation to your business, whether his work is necessary to the reasonable operation of your business, whether and to what extent your" business ■will suffer by the loss of such employee and his induction into the military service, and whether in your unbiased judgment the national interest will he better served, by Ms retention in industry than by his induction into military service. If upon such investigation you -conclude the nation’s interest wpuld be better served by the retention of the employee in industry, you should either, as such employer make claim for deferred classification on behalf of such employee before your local board, or present in writing to the board of industrial advisers, at its office in Laporte, Indiana, such facts and conclusions as your investigations warrant.
